PENNY (Pending Adoption)
Penny is a 7 month old female Great Dane (weighs 60 lbs) who has a loving, energetic personality & ready to meet her forever family. In her foster home, she is learning “sit”, “hold” and “gentle” when taking a treat, and since she is young & learning, we highly recommend her new family to take her to obedience training. She has spent the last two weeks accustoming herself to being crated, so she can be vocal but settles down quickly if left alone. Penny loves to play with our 3 1/2 year old female boxer/lab such as tug-a-war or running around the backyard. Since she is young, she playfully nibbles on hands, so she is learning to be redirected to chew on Benebones or another squeaky toy. She is not shy & loves meeting new people & wants all of your love/petting her! With a smidge of patience and consistency, Penny will be the perfect companion. She wants to please, and she is well suited for someone with an active lifestyle. She has not been cat or kid tested, but she does love having a dog sibling! Penny is spayed and UTD. Apply to adopt Penny here!
OZZY (Pending Adoption)
Ozzy is a one year old Love Bug! He is also a 105lb puppy and nothing but muscle. He is super smart, loves to play and mostly loves to cuddle. He is high energy and will require someone with previous high energy and big dog experience. He needs two strong humans or one big body builder. His coping mechanism is to go flat “you can’t move this.” He needs someone to invest their heart, time, energy and finances into him. He is in his chewing phase and will toy you out of house and home. A tall fenced yard is highly recommended. He needs to run and play every day. A first floor master is also necessary as he is terrified of steps. He is a scarfer-and will put anything on the floor in his mouth. I suspect he may grow out of this-he is a baby. He has done well with other dogs, even when they don’t love him back (aka foster sissy). Love him-let him on the couch, love him- let him in the bed, love him until your heart melts – we have. Ozzy is neutered and UTD on vaccination . Please apply to adopt Ozzy here!
MIA (Pending Adoption)
Mia is back in the rescue to no fault of her own (unfortunately one of her humans had an allergy to her). She is available for adoption & you can apply at KGDR.org
Hi, my name is Mia, I am a spunky 15 month old GD. I am very smart, I know sit, down, back, drop it. I love to play fetch and tug-a-war with my family. I am high energy and would love an outgoing type of family that loves to go for walks and play in the park. I do great on a car ride and you wouldn’t even know I was there. I love to cuddle and sleep next to my people. Due to my high energy I wouldn’t do that great with little kids, just because I dont know my own strength. I love chew toys and stuffed animals. And as long as I have been busy I am no trouble at all. With some further obedience training I bet I would be the best dog you ever had. I am spayed and UTD. Apply to adopt Mia here!
HADDIE (Pending Adoption)
Haddie is a 2 year old, rambunctious Dane who loves to spend time with company. She is very intelligent and knows the terms “potty”/go potty”, “sit”, “wait”, “ok”, “bed/go to your bed” and “eat your food”. She is working on “leave it”, “crate/go to your crate”, “all done” and “down” – her least favorite. Experience has shown that while at first nervous, Haddie is welcoming to new people and dogs alike. She has spent the last two weeks accustoming herself to being crated, so she can be vocal but settles down quickly if left alone. Haddie has done well in a house with aother dogs. She is ever eager to play tug of war with dogs or people. Whatever toy you or the nearest dog has is clearly the superior item, and she will bound for it. Toys with squeakers are the best!! If given the chance she will rip apart a toy although she will stop if asked. Her visit with a cat since being with KGDR resulted in her listening to the cat’s desire for space. It is unknown if she will chase a running cat although she has not paid cats much attention when on walks. While still a bit graceless and excitable, Haddie was raised around small children and seems to have an affinity for them. With a smidge of patience and consistency, Haddie will be a gem of a companion. Haddie wants to please, and she is well suited for someone with an active lifestyle. At this point in her life, she will need space and time to work out her puppy energy. This “pocket Dane” is eager to find a forever home. Haddie is spayed and UTD. Apply to adopt Haddie here!
