You can’t miss Gunner when he walks into a room. He weighs over 150 pounds! At 3 years old, he will require a focused outlet for his energy. He is very loyal and loving with his adult family members, but will need a home with no young children. He gets along with his canine siblings, but can be aggressive toward other dogs if introductions are not properly handled. In the right hands, this can be overcome. But he is not likely to be the dog park type. He has a strong prey drive, so a home with a fence and no small animals would be best. Gunner sits on command and is working on down. Because of Gunner’s strength, size, and protective nature, he will need a strong handler who isn’t afraid of discipline. He will need a family committed to continuing his training. KGDR has support and resources available for his adopters. Gunner will thrive in the right situation. He will be a loving and loyal companion for the right family. Gunner is neutered and UTD. Ace is a 1 year-old male with a fun, loving personality! He warms up quickly to strangers and enjoys meeting new dogs. He is a playful, energetic pup who quickly picks up on commands and instruction, but he is still a puppy, so will need further training and direction. Some of Ace’s favorite things are going for walks and car rides, playing tug-of-war, chasing tennis balls, and playing with his boxer/lab foster sister, Molly. Since he is an active puppy, he will do best in a home with other animals who love playing as much as he does! He does enjoy being a couch potato and master snuggler once he’s expended some energy. Ace is well-behaved and is housebroken and crate trained. He is very affectionate and will let you know when he wants some lovin! He has not been cat tested, but seems to be good around children. He has been around kids of various ages from toddlers to middle schoolers. He is still learning how big he is. As with any dog, care should be used around smaller children. Ace has been neutered, gastropexied and is UTD. Apply to adopt Ace here!
Chumlee is an 18 month-old Great Dane/Lab mix. He has been in a couple of shelters and homes in his short life, through no fault of his own. He has a history of doing very well with dogs, cats and older children. Younger children with lots of energy, loud noises, and (oddly) ceiling fans strike him as a bit scary. He is a very cuddly, sweet boy and has shown no signs of a destructive nature. Chumlee is still young and playful, but we would rate his energy level at medium. He loves to play fetch and when he gets going, his energy level will heighten, but on average, he’s very content laying around the house snoozing and getting belly rubs. Loyalty is big for Chumlee. Since the first day, he’s been stuck to his foster family’s side, always keeping an eye on them as if to make sure they are ok. If he’s not cuddling on the couch he’s laying right at their feet. The level of sweetness in this boy is just awesome! He has been quite receptive to training as well. Chumlee is neutered and is UTD. Apply to adopt Chumlee here!
Riley Grace is an energetic 2 year-old looking for her forever home. She was very timid & frightened in the beginning, but has become a whole new pup in her foster home. Her bunny hop when she is excited is wonderful. Riley loves to cuddle, although doesn’t realize how big she is, sometimes sitting on instead of near you. She is housebroken, crate trained and goes right there to wait for her treat when it’s time for her foster family to leave the house. Riley loves the outdoors, playing fetch (although she always sets it down at least a foot away from you), and running laps. This girl is very fast and can turn on a dime! She loves to play with her two canine foster siblings, but becomes a couch potato after dinner. She knows a few commands, such as “sit” and “bed.” We are working on “stay.” She walks very well on a leash, once you convince her to put it on. Riley is generally social, yet still a bit timid around new people and the cat is a little wary of her attention. Riley will be a wonderful addition to a younger, active family. Meet Penelope, Penny for short! She’s a 5 month old Dane/Hound mix. Penny is a rambunctious girl who loves to be around people and her canine friends! She should stay small, likely growing to no more than 50#. Her favorite thing is to play outside with her foster siblings. Penny’s favorite toy is anything that squeaks; the more noise, the better! She came into her foster home with little to no training, so all of it is a work in progress. She is close to being crate trained, but still has some accidents. She has learned “sit,” and is getting some manners. She sleeps well in her crate with little to no barking. She loves cats, sometimes a bit too much! Penny would likely do best in a home with other playful dogs and older children. She’s basically a “miniature Dane!” Penny is UTD. Apply to adopt Penelope here!
