ELEANOR (ADOPTION PENDING)
Hello, Everyone! My name is Eleanor and I am six years old. But don’t let my age fool you. I am full of life and energy! I am the definition of a velcro Dane (with a little Boxer thrown in, twice removed). I always want to be with my people, but I am okay in a crate while you’re gone. I may protest a little when I go into what I call the “NYC studio apartment,” but if you give me a treat, I am just fine. I get along with other dogs of all sizes and cats too! I am good with children as well. My perfect day involves my family. I am very well-mannered on a leash, so if you want to cruise the town, I’m your girl. If you love cuddling on the couch, that’s one of my favorite things too! I haven’t given up on finding my forever family. I will make such a great addition to almost any family. I am spayed and UTD on vaccines. Apply to adopt me here!
Pearl hasn’t had the easiest life. At age 4, she has had 2 litters of puppies. She came from a home where she was beat up by the other dogs, so she has some battle scars. Despite that, she still gets along great with her two canine foster siblings and she even enjoys making new friends at the dog park. She is quite resilient. She is a bit timid with new people, but warms up once she gets to know you. I like children as well. Pearl loves going for walks and rides in the car. She would appreciate a spot next to you on the couch or in the bed. She loves being pet and snuggled. Pearl deserves only the best and will make a loyal companion for her forever family. She is spayed and UTD on vaccines. Apply to adopt Pearl here!
You can’t miss Gunner when he walks into a room. He weighs over 150 pounds! At 3 years old, he will require a focused outlet for his energy. He is very loyal and loving with his adult family members, but will need a home with no young children. He gets along with his canine siblings, but can be aggressive toward other dogs if introductions are not properly handled. In the right hands, this can be overcome. But he is not likely to be the dog park type. He has a strong prey drive, so a home with a fence and no small animals would be best. Gunner sits on command and is working on down. Because of Gunner’s strength, size, and protective nature, he will need a strong handler who isn’t afraid of discipline. He will need a family committed to continuing his training. KGDR has support and resources available for his adopters. Gunner will thrive in the right situation. He will be a loving and loyal companion for the right family. Gunner is neutered and UTD. Apply to adopt Gunner here!
Meet this handsome fella named Finn. Finn is a 6 month-old ball of energy. He loves his toys and his canine foster sister, even though she is not fond of him. Finn likes his own bed but loves to sneak into bed with his people after they have fallen asleep. He is housebroken, walks great on a leash and gets along well with other dogs. He has not been cat tested. Although he listens well some of the time, he is still a puppy and will need further reminding and some training as he ages. He is UTD and will be adopted on a neuter contract only. Apply to adopt Finn here!
GEMMA (ADOPTION PENDING)
Gemma is a 2.5 year old merle female with natural ears. She was 96 pounds and perfectly housebroken. Gemma is well-mannered, but not above begging for people food and we are still working on her bad habit of counter surfing. She has basic obedience training and knows sit, stay, shake and down. Her zoomies are epic, and she loves to chase tennis balls in the yard. She loves to play with her foster brother Zeus and hasn’t met a rope or squeaky toy she didn’t love. She is a typical Velcro Dane, bonding well with her favorite people and leaning on, snuggling with, and loving them completely. Her current favorite person is a 12 year old girl, and the home she was surrendered from had a small toddler so she has been exposed to children. She is crate trained, however she has been sleeping in the bed with her girl since her arrival here. She has had no signs of food aggressiveness and loves the barn kitties. Whoever adopts this lovable baby will be very lucky. Gemma spayed and UTD. Apply to adopt Gemma here!
Bane is a 2.5 year old mantle male with natural ears. He is 106 pounds but still has some weight to gain before he will be at his healthiest weight. He is housebroken, well-mannered, super sweet and loves to cuddle. He has basic obedience training and knows sit, stay, shake, come and down. He plays well with other dogs, and is interested in cats. He enjoys playing tug or war with his foster sister and likes to chew on natural bones. He is crate trained, but he has been sleeping in his bed since his arrival. He’s just as happy running around outside as he is sleeping on the couch. He likes to eat, so, at times may be protective over his bowl, however, never aggressive. He wants to be loved all of the time and will show you this, especially by leaning!! Whoever adopts this lovable baby will be very lucky. Bane is neutered and UTD. Apply to adopt Bane here!
Maggie is 5 years old mantle female. She loves to be held, loved and cuddled. When you think your done petting me, she will use her nose to reassure you that you are not. She is gentle on a leash and enjoys going for walks. Maggie currently has a fenced yard and enjoys basking in the sun, when she’s not sleeping on the couch. Her two foster brothers are about 45lbs. each and they get along great, however, she doesn’t always get along with smaller dogs. She also becomes vocal in a kennel and starts having anxiety. She has done well being left out as long as she can see out a window to watch and wait for her foster family. Maggie is spayed and UTD. Apply to adopt Maggie here!
Hector is a sweet 5 year old harlequin male who loves people and other dogs. This goofy guy warms up quickly to his surroundings. He is an energy bounding puppy while playing in the back yard but quickly turns into the couch potato Dane that we all know and love. He currently has two foster siblings, one Great Dane and one pug. He likes the big guy but loves the little pug who he plays chase with all the time. He would be great in a home with an energetic dog sibling as he is both gentle and playful. When he gets excited he likes to show off his acrobatics and his foster family is working on him keeping his four paws on the floor. Hector loves nothing more than to receive love and affection and becomes a real snuggle-bug at every opportunity. If you are standing he often sits himself right in front of you to give a big hug with both paws at you waist. He is completely housebroken and walks well on a leash. He has not been cat tested or been around small children. He is UTD and neutered. Apply to adopt Hector here!
