Rose is a mantle female, approximately 2-3 years old. She is very curious, extremely sweet, and a real cuddle bug. She has tested well around kids and other animals. We are working to get her weight up and teach her inside Dane manners. Rose came to us a bit shy, so we are working on exposing her to new and positive experiences. She is really starting to come out of her shell. Rose rides quietly in a car and doesn’t mind being in her crate.
Rose will be fully vetted and spayed before she is adopted. She will be adopted as an indoor family member only. Apply to adopt Rose! She would be a great fit for a first-time Dane owner.
Bart is a 3 year-old fawn male. He is completely house broken and gets along with other dogs, big and small! He does not need to be crated when his foster mom is gone. Bart has a lot of energy and loves to run. He will do best in an active family with a fully-fenced yard, where he has room to run and play. Bart has not been out of the house much in his short 3 years, so he will need someone to be patient with him and socialize him slowly. He is quite shy around strangers, but once he warms up, he is a total lover. We are still learning about his manners around kids. He has not been cat tested. Bart is neutered and has his ears cropped. He will be adopted as an indoor family member only. Apply to adopt Bart!
Wish (adoption pending) is a female, pure-bred, Great Dane, about 2 years old. She is deaf but sees well. She will wait patiently for her food or to take a treat. She is crate trained and socialized by her wonderful foster mom, but nothing beats a forever home. Wish will do best in a home without small children as she doesn’t always realize how big she is. Wish would love to be the only dog. A multiple-large-dog home would be considered for advanced handlers. Wish is adoptable as an indoor family member only. She is spayed and UTD on vaccines and preventatives. Wish’s adoption fee is $250. Bluegrass Barkery in Lexington has gifted Wish’s future adopter with a $150 credit toward anything in the store!
From Wish’s foster mom:
Hello World! I’m Miss Wish! I am a beautiful snow princess with crystal blue eyes and a perfect pink nose. I love to run and play but I love to snuggle up to you just as much. I will follow you from room to room to see if I can involve myself in whatever you are doing. Like many white Danes, I am deaf but my sight is super sharp. Nobody can ever tell I can’t hear…unless we decide to let them in on our little secret ;) I don’t bark at the door and I am the only one brave enough to keep my foster mom company when she vacuums!
I have been in training and we are making great progress and having a blast! I will require an adopter who can help me continue in my current style of training. It will help us both feel confident and in control in any situation and you will learn amazing handler skills that very few people have! If we can do this together, you will become my leader and hero and I will bond to you like glue forever and ever!
